| With the 21st century’s arrival, the need for people with leadership skills is growing. Leadership studies is designed to meet this need by preparing students for leadership and supervisory roles in the business, industry and public service. Very simply, Leadership Studies provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to be effective in a variety of settings. First, students develop a deep understanding of the major elements that make leadership successful. Second, students gain important practical skills essential for success in their chosen professions and in their personal lives as well. Skills including interpersonal relations, problem solving, team building, collaboration, motivation, and communication are all necessary in today’s world. Students with a Minor in Leadership Studies will find themselves more marketable after graduation, as well as better prepared to be productive members in the changing workforce.
