What Students Have to Say

__________________________________________

When asked if her views of leadership had changed after four weeks of the Intro to Leadership class, Katie Beamer replied "Honestly, my views have not changed. However, my skepticism of FHSU's leadership program has. The ways in which we have discussed leadership in this class have been my beliefs since attending several leadership conferences in high school. I always thought this program was going to do nothing more than tell people HOW to be leaders. But it goes beyond that. It shows that there is no one correct way to lead. Leadership varies with the situation and the person. It really excites me to realize the mission of this program is very similar to my own views on leadership." --Katie Beamer

"Thank you for taking time and offering these classes. I can honestly say that I love the leadership classes because I can use the material I learn right now." --Todd Barney

"It's funny how a speaker in my leadership class could change my way of thinking and get me started on changing my life." --Charissa Sander

"In my LDRS 310 class, I learned the difference between getting a grade and getting an education. This might be the only class that has directly affected me personally. The project was more than just getting a grade for me." --Holly Dealy

"Leadership classes should be worked in to every major's curriculum some day." --Lance Stegman

"Today, leadership revolved around the very idea of questioning." --Tara Romme

"What I respect about the leadership department is that it is not afraid to stand up for what is right, regardless of what the outcome may be." --Blaine Jackson

"I understand that we need civic leadership for the pursuit of change and betterment for the community as a whole. Without civic leadership, society would maintain the status quo." --Ryan Zender

"I've learned that compromise with the community made mutual goals easier to achieve. The more involved the public became, the more fluid the execution of the plan became." --Eric Roberts

"Collaboration was key throughout the entire process. Without a group of determined people with passion, absolutely nothing would have gotten done!" --Aaron Kruse

"I really appreciate the feedback and compliment. I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying this program, and I feel it was a great decision to go for my Masters in Organizational Leadership." --Corey Kephart
