To Justice Studies advisees

Beginning immediately, all Justice Studies majors, minors and general studies with an emphasis in Justice Studies are directed to take all academic advising questions and enrollment inquiries to Patty Griffin in the Academic Advising office.  She and her staff will handle your questions and get you enrolled for Summer and Fall 2007 semesters.  They are familiar with the Justice Studies curriculum and will be able to assist you well.   Her office can be reached at:

Phone:  1-800-628-3478 ext 5577 or 1-785-628-5577

Beginning in Fall 2007, the advising distribution will then be reorganized among justice studies faculty again.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but this temporary advising change is done with your interest in mind.  At the present time, you will be served much more quickly and efficiently with this temporary advising adjustment than otherwise.

Have a good rest of the semester!!

Any instructor changing the time from the announced examination schedule must have the approval of the college dean. If a class start time is not listed above, the examination schedule will be announced by the instructor.

All classes shall meet for at least one hour at the time indicated on the examination schedule for the final summing of work of the course. Whether this "final summing up" is written examination or a discussion or other form of summarization is for the instructor to decide. But whatever the form, it should be a most profitable period to the student and instructor for a final appraisal of the course. Under no circumstances should this schedule period be omitted or made of no importance.

No student is permitted to take an examination before the scheduled time for the examination. Students must seek permission of the dean of the college in which the course is being taught to take a late final examination.

Friday is available for those students who have more than three finals on a particular day and for whom late finals are scheduled with dean's approval. Any student having more than three examinations scheduled on the same day may make arrangements with the dean(s) of the college(s) in which the courses are taught to have an adjustment made in the examination schedule.

Stop Using the Save Button (top) (Added 3/27/06)
stoplight

When taking an exam on Blackboard, you will find two buttons at the bottom of the page. One is the "Submit" button, and the other is the "Save" button. The e-Leadership.net Support Staff is asking you to please not use the "Save" button. Clicking the "Save" button can cause the window to lock up or your test to freeze, making it probable that your questions will not actually be saved. If you wish to save your answers, it would be best for you to copy and paste your answers into a document that you can save separately from your test. In order for you to successfully submit your test to your instructor for grading, please only use the "Submit" button.

Choosing Classes Wisely (top) (Added 11/2/05)

As you work through your program of study, it is important to choose your classes wisely. Working closely with your advisor is an important part of this process, but it is also important for students to take a look at the bigger picture when they are planning out their degree programs. Many students decide which classes they want to take before they meet with their advisor, and it is easy for the advisor to just accept their recommendations without taking a closer look at their program of study.

The problem is not that students don't know what they need, the problem is that they don't realize when the classes are offered. It is important for students to consider what classes will be offered when and which classes are considered pre-requisites to others. By doing this, students will not be caught off guard in their final semesters and not be able to take the classes they need to graduate.

ATTENTION ALL STARVING CRIMINAL JUSTICE STUDENTS:
